From biblical languages

Many exegetes do their own translation from the original text day by day and will not need any support herein. But in certain cases you may need to check German Bible versions for their appropriateness or their implied meaning as compared to the Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek or Latin text. In these cases I can offer you reliable information on the scope of the German version, on what the translator probably read in his (or maybe her) Vorlage, and/or give you my own commented translation from the original languages into German.

Of course any request for translations from the Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek or Latin texts will be welcome as well. Simply test it!

For reasons of scholarly truthfulness and traceability I cannot offer this service for any qualification works (such as PhD or master's theses) except if my part in the translation or reconstruction is explicitly and precisely referred to.

Als deutsche Muttersprachlerin mit langjähriger Erfahrung im Umgang mit englischsprachiger Fachliteratur und Redaktionserfahrung mit einem englischsprachigen Bibellexikon (EBR, siehe Lebenslauf) biete ich Ihnen gerne Übersetzungen aus dem Englischen ins Deutsche an, besonders natürlich auf dem Gebiet der Theologie, Altorientalistik, Soziologie, Ethnologie, Archäologie und Geschichte. Obwohl ich längerfristig den Erwerb des Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) anstrebe und mir der inhaltlichen Richtigkeit meiner Übersetzungen ins Englische sicher bin, würde ich bei meinen Übersetzungen ins Englische eine Gegenkontrolle durch eineN englischen MuttersprachlerIN empfehlen, um einen stilistisch einwandfreien Text zu erhalten.

Übersetzungen aus den biblischen Sprachen

Die meisten Exegetinnen und Exegeten fertigen tagtäglich ihre eigenen Übersetzungen des Bibeltextes an und brauchen dabei keine Unterstützung. Selbstverständlich biete ich aber erläuterte Übersetzungen der antiken biblischen Texte aus dem Hebräischen, Aramäischen und Griechischen oder auch Lateinischen an oder helfe Ihnen bei der Rekonstruktion von möglichen Textvorlagen und Traditionswegen. Aus den bekannten Gründen intellektueller Redlichkeit, denen ich mich zutiefst verpflichtet fühle, kann ich diesen Dienst selbstverständlich nicht für Qualifikationsarbeiten anbieten, es sei denn, mein Anteil an der Übersetzung/Rekonstruktion wird genau nachgewiesen und explizit genannt.
